Spoilers (somewhat) up to A Good Man Goes to War.

So this is primarily a gen, suuper fluff vid. You can see it as entirely canon, or go flufftastic and take it AU.

The general idea is that the four main companion girls in s1-6 all have their flaws and insecurities and personal problems, but it takes the Doctor to show them how brilliant (and perfect) they are. Along the way, the companions teach the very same thing to the Doctor and make him a better man for being around them.

Of course, when they realize the Doctor is still suffering from cynicism and depression, due to his self loathing, the companions won't stand for it, and won't rest until they prove to the Doctor that to them he is just as brilliant and special as they seem to him. No matter his flaws and mistakes, to the companions, the Doctor will always be perfect. (Hey, it's fluff)

It's not outright meant to be shippy, but there's definitely currents of ships in it if you choose to see them.

Spoilers up to A Good Man... The video is NOT what it looks like!

One day the Doctor mentions River to Rose in the adventures she missed, and explains what little he knew about her. Rose being jealous and nosy rigs up a dimensional window to see what this River girl is all about...and finding out all about her glam super specialness can't help but resent her for it--and be a little bit insecure.

In the end, though, Rose has no reason at all to envy River. In fact, River envies the stories she's heard of Rose--the woman who won the Doctor's heat in forward motion, and who could live a whole entire life with the Doctor, which River knows she never will. To River, Rose is the one she needs to measure up to, not the other way around.

So. Basically, it's a Rose/Doctor vid with a touch of River/Docter adhering to as much canon as I could, with my best effort to make River as sympathetic or moreso than Rose.

So I wanted to try out some tricks in Photoshop, and Rose and 6x01 provided easy pickings. I met with some mixed success--a few of the techniques I really liked, some I did not. I find I like the light...marshmallow-y icons right now. I also played around with the 10 variations thing, but didn't feel like making it official.

RIGHT. So awhile back, I came across an impromptu rant in the middle of something completely unrelated about how DW was so much better before romance and Rose etc. I was briefly tempted to tilt at that particular windmill...and then decided, screw it, why not royally irritate unnamed person my just contributing to the fandom they can't stand? Yes? Yes?

It was fun to make, anyway.

So. This is basically a picspam illustrating all the times in s5 when the Doctor was really thinking about Rose. The skew is intentionally shipper, and...honestly, a bit neurotic of the Doctor were it true sometimes, but. XD

I made 'em in order by episode, but the actual caps aren't always shown chronologically within the episode.

And there...just...when I go looking there doesn't seem to be very many icons of him which aren't overtly shippy or similar expressions over and over. Disclaimer: Don't own the canon. In fact there's a quite a bit directly quoted from it, given that most of its taken directly from episodes.

AN: Okay, so basically, quick run-down so it'll make sense: Years back I came up with the idea of the One Times Infinity crew encountering an alternate universe Rose where the Doctor was the one trapped in Pete's world, instead of Rose. This concept was later expanded upon brilliantly by spastasmagoria in her fic A Life Without. When I decided to pick up a Rose, I chose to snatch up that plotbunny again (using a bit of a hybrid of my original idea and hers, but that's not important to this fic!) The important part is, I wrote this fic as a character-fleshing exercise for that specific character. Certain things are skewed from canon accordingly, and it isn't entirely written as I might have if it were an actual fic.

( The stare and the silence seemed to stretch on forever, and she couldn't say why. Like a message she should understand but couldn't. )

Further source tests with the new technique. Next batch should hopefully have further Farscape, Stargate: Atlantis, Stargate: SG-1, and possibly Heroes.

...Basically, anything shiny that catches my eye. Don't know when the next batch should be, but it will be soon.

I'd like to add an extra note here, to say please comment. The entire point of this experiment was to see how they came out, really, so any input would be greatly appreciated.
