Friends Only

Fanwork and meta will be open. Thoughts on fannish things or blogs will be locked.

My fic master list is friends-locked, but I have written (on LJ) in DW, SGA, SG1, Heroes, HP, and Tin Man fandoms.

So here's the news, people.

My laptop's power cord died yesterday. A burning, melty, horrid death. The battery inevitably drained. What's this mean? It means I will only be able to get on one or two hours a day, I won't be GFXing, and I certainly won't be vidding until I can get a new one.

At the moment, the best one I've found (Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] simbiani82) is about $35 dollars. Right now...I have like...$6. So. It could be awhile before I can get enough money to replace it.

I'll still try and keep up with RPs, Email, and chat, but for the most part...I'm just not gonna be around until I can get that. Whenever that'll be. >.>

So. Figured I should let you all know.

So. I'm late. But I don't really mind, because I was busy, and I do not live on a GMT schedule, anyway. For me, this still counts...and its always the thought that counts anyway.

This is me. NOT supporting a strike. AGAIN. LJ does some stupid things to its members sometimes, but the idea of striking over removing basic accounts--which I have never used once realizing that Plus was free--is just silly.

No strikes for me.

This is pointless, but its not flocked to make my point.

I will never strike on the demands of a temper tantrum.

17 Assorted icons
Its my personal opinion that for every strong movement that supports one set of people or beliefs, there deserves to be support for the opposite or different views. Its not one I often act on. The first batch of icons, however, reflects the idea, as I see so little support for it, that I felt it deserved a little pep.

The second batch reflects the opinion of my own and several of my friends, no politics involved.

The icons may potentially be offensive, as they are most definitely politically incorrect. Look or don't look, it's entirely up to you.

Straight Pride, and Anti WGA ahead. )

For there is no end
;-;

As my friend mentioned, this news is not new at all, but it doesn't matter to me.

I just found out James Oliver Rigney jr, better known as Robert Jordan, author of the famous and long running Wheel of Time died September 16th, 2007. Robert Jordan is the reason I started writing in the first place, and one of the first writers to truly show me how fantastic fantasy can be.

When I was younger, I used to wish that his most famous series, the Wheel of Time, would never end. It seems, as the book had always predicted in every prologue, The wheel always turns. It's sad that we'll never get to see the great battle we've waited the better part of a decade for, but far sadder that a legend of our time has passed on to just that.

The wheel of time turns, age gives birth to legends, with time these legends become myth and with time these myths are lost from the annals of time till the age which gave birth to them comes again

Though you may be gone, your legacy will always live on, and the wheel will always turn in our hearts and minds.

It's not much, but I had to say it; there is no writer living or dead that I hold in higher esteem than Robert Jordan. It's hard to believe he's really gone.

May the last embrace of the Mother welcome you home, and the Creator shelter you in his hand.

Okay, so...I went up last weekend to a family wedding. Rather lovely, and crazy. But you don't wanna hear about that....you wanna hear about my newly married-in cousin.

Who looks like a cross between Simon Pegg and John Simm. I do not lie.

He was wild and crazy through the whole wedding and reception, breaking into random dance moves on the altar, and playing up the audience's cheers and laughter, and generally being crazy and jovial. (I heard later he'd had a few drinks, but hey.)

Anyway. Why take my word for it? I HAVE PICTURES!

Three, not very good ones taken from the wedding invitation, but pictures still.
