Genre: Character Introspection
Rating: PG just in case
Couple: Ten/Rose implied
Spoilers: Vague spoilers for Doomsday
Summary: When he put the necklace around Rose, he had to think he would never see her again. What was going through his mind? Possibly AU.
Disclaimer: Nope. I don't do children's shows well. Definitely don't own DW.
AN: Okay, this came as totally random inspiration. Dark, and obviously a bit AU (so I hope) but hey. Its a fic. This would be set within the few seconds between the Doctor sending Rose off and her returning to him--sort of a darker look at what he might have been thinking.

Love her
He loved her. He adored her with every fiber in his 5th dimensional being. He was obsessed with her, and he didn't care. He wouldn't hide it any longer, he'd scream it from anywhere he pleased, echoing his sentiments throughout the farthest reaches of the universe, paint it in the stars as nebulae.
He never wanted to be without her ever again. He could barely comprehend how he had handled himself before he had met her. She was his beginning, she would be his end. She would never leave him because he would never let her. So many millenia had gifted his people with ways to keep even the fragile 3rd dimensional beings like her alive indefinitely, in a way.
She would be a shell. She would be nothing. She would be his. And she would love him as much as he loved her.
She would never realize it until it was too late. She would cry, she would scream, she would run, but she would never escape him. Never again. Because he loved her. Because she was everything he ever dreamt.
He would give up anything to have her with him. He would sacrifice all he held dear for another smile. He would throw away all his lives, every world, his principals, his knowledge, his sanity, his morals. He would crush every single universe in the palm of his hand if it meant he could hold her tight to him and never let go.
And that was why he could never see her again. Why she had to leave. Why he could not give himself the chance to answer her look of betrayal as she vanished with her wretched family. That was why he would burn every possession he ever had of her, why he would never so much as think of her name...her face...her smile...her touch. Never again.
Because if he ever allowed himself to remember, he would never stop until she was with him again. Because he loved her. Because he died the second she vanished. Because he could never let her go again.
